A PASSION for creating things – or crafting – from an early age has led to a Haverhill woman starting her own craft business.
Jackie Reader, 43, has been running Two Cats Crafts online for 15 months, from her home, but has just moved into a unit in the Hollands Road Business Centre.

Surrounded by a variety of craft items in her new unit, Jackie said: “I left my previous job and wanted to turn my hobby into a job that would work around my two children.

“I have always dreamed of having my own craft shop.”

The Two Cats name was inspired by Jackie’s pets Pepsi and Tango and they have provided her website – www.twocatscrafts.co.uk – with an eye-catching logo.

She and husband Steve have worked hard to create a welcoming shop.

Jackie is mainly focusing on card making and scrapbooking products at present, but has a selection of catalogues available for customers to browse and is happy to order specific items for people.

She said: “I’m open to ideas about what people in the town want, then hopefully we can grow to a bigger unit.”

Jackie aims to be hands-on as well, and can always be found with a craft project on the go, which she is happy to answer questions about.

She is hoping to produce a line of finished craft goods, such as jewellery, which would make ideal gifts.

Her products are suitable for every product range, with embellishments – for cards or scrapbooks – starting from 10p.

Two Cats Crafts is open from 10am until 5pm, Monday to Friday, and at other times by appointment.

You can contact Jackie by sending an e-mail to sales@twocatscrafts.co.uk, or by calling the shop on 01440 706041.

And for seven days only from the date of this paper, anyone who takes this article (no photocopies) along to the shop will receive a ten per cent discount on their purchase.
