ALMOST £4,000 has been donated to local and national charities thanks to the fund raising efforts of staff at Barclays Bank branches in Haverhill and Sawston.
Employees such as James Benham, who raised £940 for Thurlow, Bradley and District Pre-school, Paul Zuppinger, who generated £940 for Addenbrooke's Hospital's Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit and Gemma Cammiss, who raised £1,025 for Cancer Research UK, h
elped the two branches net a total of £3,915 last year.

The branches also played their part in the efforts of Barclays staff throughout East Anglia that resulted in £46,000 being raised for Breast Cancer Care and Children in Need.

A further £11,800 was donated from Barclays Community Investment Fund into projects that included Anglia Care Trust and Castle Manor Business and Enterprise College in Haverhill.

Grampian Gunners Under 13 football team also received £800 towards new kit and training equipment.

Kate Kingshott, Barclays community relations manager, said: "We believe the expertise and skills of our employees, as well as our money, can make a huge difference to the communities we all live in and we are looking forward to continuing this support for both our staff and the causes that matter to them in 2008."
