BUSINESSPEOPLE in Haverhill will be digging out their black ties and anxiously seeking the best gown ahead of this year's CB9 Business Awards, organised by Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The awards will be held on May 17, at Chilford Hall, in Linton, and the period to submit nominations has now closed.

Paul Donno, chamber chairman, said: “We would like to thank all the companies that have entered and hope they will come along to e
njoy the evening.”

Tickets for the awards dinner cost £75 each and money raised by the event will go to St Nicholas Hospice, in Bury St Edmunds.

Sarah Howard, chamber secretary, said: “Last spring my husband’s parents died within a month of each other and then my father died in November, all of cancer. My children lost three of their grandparents within six months. I was very concerned about how they would cope, what to tell them and how to tell them.

“I contacted the hospice and received some excellent support and advice over the phone.

“I know if I need further support in the future, they are on hand to help.

“I’m very pleased St Nicholas Hospice is the chosen charity for the awards again this year.”

The evening will start with a welcome reception, followed by a three-course dinner and a band – Jacen And The Rockanauts – will keep the nominees and winners dancing into the early hours.

Sarah said: “The last awards, in 2005, was a fantastic night and raised over £5,000 for the hospice.

“We hope to top that amount this year but can only do so if the people and businesses of Haverhill support the evening, so please buy your tickets and come along to what will be an excellent night out.”

Tickets are available by calling Jo Morgan, on 01638 666147, or by downloading the booking form at www.cb9businessawards.co.uk.
