FAMILY-owned Haverhill business Jan Cavelle Furniture proved size doesn't matter by seeing off rivals Vodafone and Royal Mail to win at the British Institute of Sales Awards.
The Rookwood Way firm beat commercial giants to win the title of best customer service team during an Oscars-style awards evening in London.

The team was represented on the night by Mary Pryer, from Haverhill and Matt Barrie, from Cambridge.

Other members of the team, not at the presentation were John Barnes and Lisa Page, both from Haverhill.

Managing director Jan Cavelle, who was a finalist in the sales director category, said: "I'm just so proud of my fantastic team.

"What an incredible, against-the-odds victory.

"Nothing could give me more pleasure than seeing these truly fabulous, outstanding staff achieve recognition."

The company was also in the final of two other sales categories, with Jack Glennon and Dean Fairweather reaching the final shortlist of five.

Jack and Jan also achieved a first in being the only mother and son to both get to the final stages of the awards.
