AFTER more than four years operating out of a cramped shop in Haverhill, haberdashery and needlecraft specialist The Craft Basket has relocated to new premises in the town's Queen's Square.
Sue Vallis had been looking to take her business to a larger building after realising it had outgrown its home in Eden Road, when the opportunity arose to move to the shop previously occupied by Solutions In Recruitment.

Now, she has more space to offer a wide range of services that include cross stitching, latch hook kits, alterations, hand knitting to order, card making kits, sewing machine repairs, beads and jewellery.

She also has contacts for a framing service for cross stitching.

“I was so full up there, ” said Sue.

“I outgrew the shop, but now I’ve got room to expand.

“It’s just lovely that people can walk around and have a look because they’ve got the space.”

The move has been well received by her many regular customers, added Sue, whose biggest seller is knitting equipment, which somewhat surprisingly includes children’s needles, proving that the younger generation is still very much interested in carrying on the traditions of the craft.
