WOMEN mean business is the message behind a special seminar being held at Haverhill Arts Centre later this month, and which will feature an award-winning Haverhill businesswoman.
Enterprising Women aims to inspire both women already in business, and those who are thinking of setting up their own firms.
Haverhill’s Jan Cavelle, of Jan Cavelle Furniture Company, started her business from home in 2000 as a way of supporting herself and her two children.
The company now employs more than 30 people and has a turnover in excess of £1.5m.
Janean Ward, from Norfolk, started a digger business in 2007, after using one for a house extension.
She now owns two diggers and a mini crusher.
The session will also feature a talk by Emma Jones, whose book Spare Room Start Up is Waterstones’ business book of the month for May.
The event has been organised by Enterprising Women and Menta, and takes place on May 22, from 10am to 1pm, including a buffet lunch.
To register, contact Alison Medlock, of Enterprising Women, on 0800 0121365, e-mail alison.medlock@enterprising-women.org, or visit www.enterprising-women.org.
