A RECENT spate of thefts from vans and commercial vehicles has prompted a Haverhill locksmith to promote a safety solution to stop thieves in their tracks.
Adam Gall, owner of Jocks Locks, in Queen’s Square, wants more people to be aware they could beat thieves by installing Limpet Locks on their vehicles.
The locks, which fit double and side-load doors, are drill proof, cannot be picked and cannot have their keys replicated except by an authorised locksmith, have been in higher demand following a rise in vehicle break-ins.
Adam said: “A lot of businesses have been getting in contact with us because there’s been a spate of break-ins.
“There are other systems that can be fitted but it’s just an easy DIY thing.
“You don’t have to put it into a garage to get it done.”
The lock also comes with the professional seal of approval from Adam, who has operated from Queen’s Square for two years.
He said: “I will search for the product that helps customers most and if it’s no good I won’t sell it.”
The locks are also designed to act as a visual deterrent, will deflect hammer blows, come with self-install instructions and cost £125, including VAT.
