A YOUNG married couple have taken over as the leaseholders of a popular South Cambridgeshire pub.
Danielle and Sam Ahlquist, 22 and 23, have lived in the area for a number of years – Sam all his life - and worked in the Cock Inn, at Castle Camps, under the previous tenant.

Chef Sam and Danielle, who will deal with the front of house, are working on changing the menu and will also provide beer drinkers with a guest ale every week.

Sam said: "I've always had the goal of having a pub by the time I'm 35 so I'm 12 years early."

As well as the pub and restaurant sides to the business, they also have three bed and breakfast rooms available at a rate of £30 a night.

Sam has worked as a chef for seven years, including periods at The White Hart, Great Yeldham, while Danielle has worked at front of house since she left school.
