Family history day at Haverhill library

Representatives of Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex Family History Societies will be on hand to offer their expertise and resources and millions of county records during a Family History Open Day at Haverhill Library in Camps Road on Saturday, January 21.

The doors open at 10am and at 10.30am Bernard Amps, chief research officer of Cambridgeshire FHS will give a talk title Brickwalls, in which he will give advice on likely causes and how to get around them. To reserve a place call Haverhill Library on 01440 702638. Practical one-to-one ‘ask the expert’ sessions will follow from 12.30pm to 4pm, with members of all three county societies present.

For those with wider interests there will also be guided access to Find My Past & Ancestry on the library’s computer terminals and light refreshments will be available all day.
