Village News: Kedington

SCHOOL: The new term welcomed back Mrs Dunbar after a year away due to long delays with surgery from her badly broken arm.

The phone chain has worked well this week when the school had to be closed. Information can also be found on the website www.kedington.suffolk.sch.uk

Over the next month there is plenty of learning planned, with children in Years 5 and 6 focusing on a Science based block of learning around Fairgrounds; Year 3 and 4 exploring Earthquakes and Volcanoes; and Year 1 and 2 finding out about clothing through Science, History and Technology.

The school are in need of deep ice cream tubs, if you can help please take them to the office.

PTFA: Last term saw the PTFA raise a magnificent £3500. Included in this was the Christmas Fayre along with the ice rink which raised just over £2000 and the Christmas Shopping Night which raised £530. Thank you to all who supported this.

There are three events arranged for this term starting with a disco on the last Friday of this half-term with Reception and Year 1 straight after school and Year 2 upwards later in the evening.

The AGM will be on March 27 to which everyone is invited. The chairman and secretary are standing down so some fresh blood is needed. Most of the parents on the PTFA have children in the juniors so it would be nice to see more representation from earlier in the school. They are a very friendly lot and won’t bite!

CHURCH: St. Peter and Paul’s would like to thank everyone who supported their Christingle Service and the carol singing round the village. These together with the individual home collection boxes, raised £440 for The Children’s Society.
