LOCAL firms which are involved in the wedding trade are being sought for a fund raising event at Sturmer Village Hall, in early 2009.
The village hall recently received an unexpected electricity bill for £3,000, because the centre's bill had been based on incorrect estimates since 2003, and must now hold a series of events to raise the money.

In March 2009, the village hall will play host to a wedding fair, and wants to showcase local businesses.

Ann Aken, of the village hall committee, said: "We are aiming for a very personal and intimate event, rather than a large commercial one."

Wedding dress designers and makers, suit suppliers, professional mobile make-up artists and beauty therapists, photographers and cake makers are just some of the professions which the fair organisers would like to attract.

The event is due to take place on March 1, from 11am to 4pm, and will give local traders the opportunity to offer interactive demonstrations and advice to prospective clients.

For more information about the fair, contact Ann Aken on 01440 708063.
