THE festive tale of probably the best-known miser in history comes to life this weekend with a performance of Scrooge The Musical by the Ketton Players.
Leslie Bricusse's play, based on Charles Dickens' classic story, A Christmas Carol, has already been a big hit on the professional stage, and the Ketton Players now hope to produce just as big a stir with six performances at Kedington Community Centre.

The two-hour show features a cast of more than 40, including more than 20 children, and is directed by Sue Brown, with Celia Bradnam as assistant director and Paul Davis as musical director.

In her programme notes, Sue says of the play: "Ketton Players has never staged such a production before and it has taught us a lot about ourselves and what we can achieve if we all pull together."

Performances begin at 7.30pm tomorrow and Saturday, 3.30pm on Sunday, 7.30pm on Friday, December 5 and 2.30pm and 7.30pm on Saturday, December 6.

Tickets – at £6 for adults (£5 concessions) – are available from Kedington Butchers or Celia on 01440 704293.
