IF you're looking for ways to entertain the whole family this bank holiday weekend, the National Trust has a whole host of events going on at its local sites, which are guaranteed to brighten your day.
There’s family fun all weekend at Sutton Hoo, in Suffolk, where visitors can delve into the dark ages with living history group Ormsgard, who will be putting demonstrations of Saxon cookery, crafts, storytelling and weaponry.

Join in with family g
ames, from ancient to modern, and pose as King Raedwald, the Anglo-Saxon king of England.

Visit Oxburgh Hall in Norfolk, on Sunday, when it will be hedgehog day.

Join a wildlife conservation specialist to find out more about the prickly little creatures and take part in a hedgehog trail and meet Trusty The Hedgehog.

It runs from 12noon until 4pm.

Enjoy May Day, on Monday, at Wimpole Home Farm, in Cambridgeshire, between 11am and 4pm.

Celebrate the coming of May with a traditional May tree.

Join in the fun and make Jack O’ Green masks and May baskets.

There will also be a children’s entertainer to keep younger members of the family occupied.

And don’t forget there are fascinating houses to explore and magnificent gardens to discover, as well as miles of countryside to enjoy at these sites.

To find out more about opening times and events, visit the National Trust’s website, at www.nationaltrust.org.uk.
