I AM writing with regards to the bird sighting in Haverhill.
I was walking my dog on Puddlebrook in Haverhill, on October 1. My cat always comes and on this occasion we were on our way off the field when I turned and saw a bird swoop to try to catch my cat.

She managed to run in to the bushes and hide luckily. I came home and looked on the Internet to see if I could identify the bird and emailed Linton Zoo to ask if they knew of any rare bird collections that may have lost a bird, as I knew by the size of it it was not native to this country.

The lady at Linton Zoo gave me an e-mail address for a bird of prey club, who I then contacted. But to this day I have never had a reply. I just hope that it is captured before someone's cat gets eaten.

JANINE WALKER,

Ladygate, Haverhill.
