The war memorial in Haverhill cemetery will be 90 years old in 2010, and we in the Suffolk Family History Society Haverhill Group are keen to mark the occasion.
We would like to trace the descendants of those named, who fought and died in the Great War. We hope the information gathered will be used in a joint exhibition with the local history Group in October 2010.

If any of your readers are interested in this project, have any stories concerning their ancestors, or indeed if they have any objections to having any details printed, would they please contact me at the above address?

The local history group’s Roy Brazier, is compiling a book of letters written to Haverhill addresses from serving men during the 1914-1918 conflict. Many local names will be included. If any descendants wish to know which letters will be included, would they please call Roy on 01440 714877.
