Shame on Havebury!

AS former vice-chairman of the Havebury board of directors, I was disgusted by the dreadful treatment and the rubbish way that that Havebury have handled this problem, for this soldier tenant (Echo, February 28).
It will gain momentum and further very bad publicity, like so many of the problems that led to my recent resignation. Havebury could have solved this with some small modicum of human compassion and a dose of common sense.
My 89-year-old mum, a captain in the army during World War II, was so disgusted she said: "So much for the Havebury slogan Best Landlord For Our Tenants and that other one, Aspring To Excellence."
She said that Havebury should be ashamed of themselves and if she had the money from her meagre pension she would have paid for this young man to get his shower.
Perhaps Havebury are short of money – they only get £20 million a year in rents.
Tom Murray,
Oakes Road,
Bury St Edmunds.
