A WALK-IN health centre sounds great – maybe we can get some of the services that for years we have not had or with which we have had problems of travel, etc.
Not everyone can drive or travel by bus and there is a lack of transport to West Suffolk Hospital.
I would just like to say, as a diabetic, we badly need, and should have, a proper local clinic much needed for the many diabetics in Haverhill.
Also, wouldn't it be great to get x-rays done here and maternity care scans, etc, saving travelling time, parking problems, arranging around family and work, etc.
I know the doctors' surgeries might not be happy as their funding is being cut, but there are other services that they do not provide as a GP, and there is the problem that arises after 6pm or at weekends, where sometimes the solution of visiting A&E could have been avoided.
Mrs C Abbott,
Ickleton Place,
Haverhill.
