Were you awake when the earthquake hit Haverhill?
I live on the Chalkstone and was reading in bed, my husband fast asleep.

At two minutes to 1am there was a loud noise sounding like gusting wind.

At first, as it got louder, I thought it sounded like some huge lorry rumbling along, vibrating the house until the house started to shake and my bed with it.

The TV and several items in the room started to join in.

The way the bed headboard shook so rapidly I knew then it was something like an earthquake.

My husband woke and looked out expecting it might be something going on outside.

Then, as fast as it started, it ended. I listened to hear if any dogs were barking, but... silence.

Time to put the book down and sleep – maybe dream of the night the earth moved for me!
