Haverhill school’s biggest production prepares to hit the stage

The biggest and most ambitious dramatic production ever undertaken by Samuel Ward Academy takes to the stage for a three night run next week.
Comedy horror rock musical Little Shop of Horrors will be performed at the Chalkstone Way school at 7pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (19 to 21) with doors opening at 6.30pm.
The show then goes to Haverhill Arts Centre on Monday, March 25. Doors open at 6.30pm for a 7pm start.
The show centres around Seymour Krelborn,(played by Joshua Woodgate), a blood eating plant under his care and his relationship with Audrey (Jess Dixon and Billie Allen) and her cruel boyfriend Orin Scrivello (Max Murphy).
Lauren Fearne, the school’s head of drama and the musical’s director, rates it as the biggest ever undertaken by its students.
She added: “It’s been really good fun directing it.
“We’ve got a huge building set of the streets of New York which is pretty impressive.”
Tickets for the three shows at the school cost £6, with seats for the arts centre performance priced at £7.50/£6 with concessions. The biggest and most ambitious dramatic production ever undertaken by Samuel Ward Academy takes to the stage for a three night run next week.
