Rambling club walks in Balsham and Clare

If you live in or near Haverhill and are keen on country walking then two walks taking place in the region in the next week could be just right for you.

On Sunday (November 18) Newmarket Ramblers have the third of their series of walks based on the Icknield Way Path, namely a 12 mile linear walk from Cheveley to Balsham.

Members should meet at Balsham Church at 9.30am to share transport to the start and are asked to contact the leaders, Mike and Jackie, on 01953 884931, in advance, to assist arrangements.

Next Wednesday morning (November 21) the ramblers head off for a six-and-a-half mile walk from Clare Country Park, (pay and display) to Cavendish.

This walk also starts at 10am and more information is available from Hilary on 01440 710919.

Also on offer on Sunday is a five mile walk from the Ship Lane, (Maltings), car park in Ely, starting at 10am.

Further details can be obtained from the leader, Beryl, on 01638 750837.
