What’s On at Haverhill Arts Centre

The Arts Centre welcomes DICK GAUGHAN, Scotland’s most passionate troubadour, a folk and social protest singer and guitarist on Saturday, February 2 at 8pm. Dick’s performances burn with a fierce conviction and smoulder with heartfelt compassion.

Unfortunately THE HONEYCOMBS IN THE 21ST CENTURY on Friday, February 8 has been cancelled due to the loss of their lead guitarist.

On the cinema front we have the last of our free films to celebrate going digital on Thursday at 7.45pm with HYSTERIA (15).

Our new cinema programme for February begins on Friday 1 at 7.45pm with GREAT EXPECTATIONS (12A), starring Ralph Fiennes as Magwitch the convic.

MIDNIGHT’S CHILDREN (12A) showing on Monday, February 4 at 1.30pm and Wednesday 6 February at 7.45pm, is an adaptation of Salman Rushdie’s Booker Prize/Best of the Booker Prize winning novel, combining India’s recent history with child-like fantasy and romantic drama. Finally LIFE OF PI 2D (PG) is showing on Tuesday 5 and Thursday, February 7 at 7.45pm. Pi, a zoo-owner’s son in 1970s India emigrates toCanada along with several animals including a tiger known enigmatically as Richard Parker. After a storm wrecks theirship, the terrified Pi finds himself adrift in a lifeboat with an equally unnerved tiger.

Dates for the diary include COMMUNITY BRASS on Sunday,February 10 at 7pm, Haverhill Youth and Community Band invite Long Melford Silver Band to join them, CLASSICAL DIVAS, at last four females following in the footsteps of Il Divo on Friday, February 15 at 7.30pm, and FUNK ODYSSEY on Saturday, February 16 from 8pm to 1.30pm, a five piece band plus DJs.
