What’s on at Haverhill Arts Centre

Biff is not like ordinary dogs. He likes moonlight. And music. And walking on his tiptoes. You see, Biff doesn’t think he’s a dog, Biff thinks he’s a ballerina. The sublime and the ridiculous combine in DOGS DON’T DO BALLET a dazzling comedy by Little Angel Theatre on Friday, March 1 at 10am. and suitable for children aged 2-6 years.

If jazz is your thing, come along on Friday, March 1 at 8pm for the All That Jazz Club. TINA MAY, one of the most popular vocalists on the UK jazz scene will be joined by the HANNAH HORTON QUARTET.

UK acoustic guitar phenomenon CLIVE CARROLL will be playing at the Arts Centre on Sunday, March 3. He has worked with such luminaries as Gordon Giltrap and John Etheridge and he will showcase a totally new set. Stoke College return to the Arts Centre with THE CONCH, a high energy musical drama which follows the unfolding events at home and away when a group of evacuees are stranded on a remote island, on Tuesday 5 or Thursday, March 7 at 7pm.

After years of performing at some across continents and on TV, Mugenkyo Taiko Drummers now return to the roots of Taiko drumming with a thundering and exhilarating concert THE WAY OF THE DRUM on Friday, March 8 at 7.30pm.

On the cinema front, political thriller LINCOLN (12A) is showing on Thursday, February 28 at 7.45pm, LES MISERABLES (12A) on Wednesday 6, Tuesday 12 and Thursday, March 14 at 7.45pm and 1.30pm Monday, March 18.

This week’s talk by Dr Roger Simpson on Victorian Paintings is on Wednesday , March 6, Alexander Wagner The Panorama: Painting and the Birth of Popular Art.

Dates for the diary include the new THINK FLOYD production on Friday, March 15 at 8pm.
