A NEW initiative is being launched at Cineworld, in Haverhill, to allow babies and their parents to enjoy their cinema-going experiences together.
The Ehringshausen Way picture house is one of only two Cineworlds in the country to be trialling the Cinebabies scheme over the next three months.

A free starter Cinebabies was held on Monday, as a precursor to what will become regular weekly scre
enings.

The initiative sets out to make the film experience as relaxed and enjoyable as possible for babies aged under 18 months and their parents, or even grandparents, uncles or aunties.

Pushchairs will be arranged in the auditorium so that adults can have easy access to their belongings, while baby changing facilties are also available.

Cinebabies films are shown at reduced sound and with lights at quarter strength to minimise disturbance to the babies, and start on Mondays between midday and 12.30pm, with a choice of new and current releases always on offer.

The offer will not operate on bank holidays or school holidays, and parents will not be admitted with any child aged over 18 months, unless they are a sibling of the baby attending the screenings.

Adults pay standard rates, siblings the normal child rate and the under-18 month-old babies are admitted free.
