Council awards funds to local groups

VOLUNTARY organisations in Haverhill have fared well in the latest round of grant awards from St Edmundsbury Council, with hundreds of thousands of pounds allocated to various good causes in the town.
The largest of the awards agreed by the council's cabinet last week, £219,745, went to Haverhill Arts Centre as part of its five-year funding agreement with the borough council.
