HAVERHILL couple Ray and Pamela Valler took to the water at the town's leisure centre to take part in the Swimathon and raise more than £250 between them for a cancer charity.
Ray and Pamela, of Somerset Court, swam 2.5km and 5km respectively to raise the cash for Marie Curie Cancer Care in the annual event.

Experienced charity swimmer Pamela, who was participating in the event for the second year, said: "I had a very fast time, two hours and three minutes, including water stops – and my goggles broke."
