TIME is running out for people to have their say on the future of schools in the Haverhill and Clare area.
Suffolk County Council issued public notices on Friday, April 11, signalling the start of a six week public consultation period.
That period will end on Friday, May 23 and Suffolk County Council is encouraging people to have their say on the changes
to be made before time runs out.
Councillor Patricia O'Brien, the council's lead member for children, schools and young people's services said: "Anyone who is yet to have their say on these proposals should do so before Friday to ensure their views are considered by cabinet before they make their final decision".
All opinions and views will be analysed by the cabinet at a meeting on Tuesday, June 24.
The new two-tier system will be introduced from 2011 and will result in the closure of four middle schools- Clare, Chalkstone, Castle Hill and Parkway.
A federation will be set up between Castle Manor Bussiness and Enterprise College and Burton End Primary School, and Samuel Ward Arts and Technology College and Westfield Primary School.
A notice has been displayed outside each of these affected schools, outlining how the specific school could be affected if the changes were to happen.
People who have not had their say about the changes are being encouraged to do so as after the June meeting the proposed plans will be put in place to implement the changes.
