A RECORD number of exhibitors will be taking part in Haverhill and District Flower Club's annual floral art competition, which is being held at Haverhill Arts Centre on Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16.
The club has attracted 26 entrants, with a total of 60 exhibits, to the show, which runs from 12.30pm to 5pm on the Saturday, and 10am until 4pm on the Sunday.

Now in its 45th year, the club has drawn exhibitors from as far afield as Luton, Ipswich, Mildenhall and Cambridge to the show, which is being staged at the arts centre for the second year.

The competition encompasses six classes; Over The Rainbow, Nursery Rhymes, The Velvet Touch, Coastal Waters, Burnished With Gold and At Your Leisure.

Burnished With Gold will be shown as a floor-standing display and the remaining classes on tables. Judging will be done by Judy Wynn, who is accredited by NAFAS (National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies).

A donation by Haverhill county councillor Tim Marks has enabled the club to use new staging and drapes for this year’s show.
