MEMBERS of Hundon Gardening Club looked rather fetching in their matching green pinnies, which they stitched together themselves for their annual plant market at the end of the month.
The group wanted visitors to be able to see who was selling and available to give out information about treating certain plants, so over lunch one Saturday they cut, pinned and sewed.

The end result was a dozen matching pinnies and they showed off their handiwork while selling plants and serving tea at Hundon Village Hall, on Sunday, May 25.

Show secretary Barbara Waldron said: "We made them specially because we thought they would cause a stir.

"We've held a plant market for the last seven or eight years to raise funds for the club and we decided it would be easier for people to tell who we are if we all had a uniform, so we decided to get some green pinnies made up."

Nearly all the plants were sold within the opening half an hour and more than £300 was raised for club funds.

Hundon Gardening Club's next event is Hundon Open Gardens, on June 22 from 2pm.
