YOUNG people with a talent for entertaining and a desire to perform will be catered for by a new event coming to the Haverhill calendar – Haverhill Performing Arts Festival.
Launched last week at Haverhill Arts Centre, the festival will take place in November, and will focus, in its inaugural year, on speech and drama.

The aim is to expand to encompass music and dance in subsequent years.

The festival committee would like to hear from schools that would like to enter and from businesses which could provide sponsorship, cups or trophies, or membership of the festival's friends scheme.

Contact Samatha Tucker on 01440 714648.

The syllabus will be available from Haverhill Arts Centre from Saturday, May 24.
