PUPILS at Haverhill school got a visit from MEP to help them learn about global communities.

MEP Tom Wise visited Chalkstone Middle School earlier this month to speak about his role as a European MP while West Suffolk MP Richard Spring and Helen Elmerstig of charity SOS Children’s Villages also visited to talk to the pupils.

The school’s 400 students also took part in activities and learned about world trade, world music and world sport among other things.

Nigel Giles, Chalkstone Middle School headteacher, said: “It was a superb day.

“The children were all involved, all learned something and all thoroughly enjoyed their activities and seeing what the others had done.”
