RICHARD Spring has become the latest person to voice his objections to plans to create an air-traffic-holding stack over parts of south Cambridgeshire and west Suffolk.
The West Suffolk MP held a meeting in his office with representatives of NATS, national air traffic managers, to raise concerns about proposals to change the flight paths for departures and arrivals to Stansted, Luton and Cambridge.
The proposals
will have an impact on the airspace locally.
Speaking after the meeting, where he was joined by Jim Paice, MP for South East Cambridgeshire, Richard said: "I have received many letters from angry constituents who are very concerned about these proposals.
"I raised many of these concerns in the meeting today.
"It is unacceptable for the Government to change the flight paths over people's homes without giving them a chance to debate this in full.
"Airports and airlines need to be more accountable to local people who are forced to live with the noise.
"I will continue to do my utmost to ensure that the voice of local people, who this directly impacts upon, is heard.
"I am making a full submission as part of the NATS consultation process."
Members of South Cambridgeshire's cabinet are expected to consider their response to NATS' consultation today.
