A TOUR of the birthplace of the composer Bach was one of the highlights experienced by a 55-strong party of Haverhill and District Town Twinning Association during a recent visit to its twin town in Germany.
The group, which included an encouraging number of younger people, spent five days in Germany staying with host families at Ehringshausen, during which time they took a trip to Eisenach in the former East Germany.
Eisenach is famous not only for being the birthplace of Bach but also the place where famous religious reformer Martin Luther went to school and the home of the Wartburg factory where the Trabant car was manufactured.
The visitors also spent a day with their host families visiting towns, castles, and markets.
