A DIFFERENT view of Haverhill and its hinterland was enjoyed by walkers of all ages who took part in a charity hike around the town.
The Marathon Hike on Saturday gave walkers the choice of completing a nine, 18 or 22-mile circular countryside walk around Haverhill to raise money for Duchennes Muscular Dystrophy Research.
A separate four-mile stroll was also organised to raise money for the Samaritans Purse Turn On The Tap campaign to improve the water quality in African countries.
The treks were organised by Downs Baptist Chapel in Haverhill as part of the Hope 2008 National Initiative that aims to bring Christian Churches together and raise money for good causes.
The youngest of 70 participants on the day was just three months and the total raised currently stands at about £1,000.
Pastor David Wiffen, from Downs Baptist Chapel, said of the inaugural event: "Walking around Haverhill on the footpaths is eye-opening for many people."
