Pupils at Ashdon Primary School have been completing a mile each day as part of a health and fitness initiative.
Remarkably the first group of children to have completed a half marathon distance (13 miles) were the youngest in the school who undertake their walk as part of their daily provision. The children were presented with the ‘Half Marathon’ certificates in Friday’s assembly. Head teacher Gary Brown said: “This is a great initiative which helps the children both physically and academically.
“We are very proud of our youngest children as some are not even five years old, and yet they go out each day and complete their daily mile.”
