Bigger prizes are now on offer in a charity lottery.
The St Nicholas Hospice Care Lottery is changing and this month, and while the £1,000 weekly top prize remains, players could win up to £10,000 due to a new second prize rollover.
From April 20, if the second prize of £250 is not won it will be rolled over to the next week, with the prize pot being boosted by £250 every time it is not won. If the second prize rollover builds up to £10,000 one lucky person is guaranteed to win the whole amount.
The Hospice Lottery costs just £1 per week and raises more than £250,000 for the hospice every year.
Caroline Tatum, hospice lottery officer, said: “The total prize fund has not changed but we have made it more exciting, with the potential for even bigger prizes on top of the guarantee someone will win the £1,000 first prize every week.
“I hope this will encourage people to join the lottery.
“Not only do they have a chance of winning up to £10,000, but their money goes to a great cause.”
The new prize structure is as follows:
– First prize: £1,000
– Second prize: £250 (if not won, this will rollover until a maximum of £10,000)
– Third prize: £100
– Fourth prize: £50
– Runners up: 40 prizes of £10
