The Epicentre at Haverhill Research Park has signed up its first tenant in its ongoing drive to attract businesses to the area.

Paul Donno, who runs an online account services business, 1Accounts, and is also the chairman of Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, has become the first of the Research Park’s ‘virtual tenants’.

“We’re at the leading edge of technology,” said Mr Donno. “We’re a cloud based company and every body works from home.

“It suits our business model to move to the Epicentre in a year’s time. That will be our hub. I think it’s going to be fantastic for the town.”

With an anticipated completion date of 2015, The Epicentre could create up to 300 jobs.

The development will offer a range of space sizes, from 170 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft, together with conference and meeting rooms, training facilities and a ‘work-hub’ area for shared working.

Nic Rumsey, director of Carisbrooke Developments, which is developing the research park, said: “What better a person to have as our first ‘virtual’ tenant than Paul Donno.

“He is a great supporter of local Haverhill businesses in his role as the chamber chairman and we welcome him to the park.”
