Joe Boreham could still play for Haverhill Rovers

Joe Boreham could still have a future at Haverhill Rovers after he has served his jail term.
Boreham, 21, was handed an eight month jail term after pleading guilty to two offences of common assault, one of being in possession of an offensive weapon and one of having a bladed article in a public place.
The bit-part midfielder had been injured for much of this season, last playing for Rovers in a 2-1 win over CRC on January 5, putting in a man of the match performance.
Rovers chairman and then manager Ali Shulver said: “We’ve known Joe for a lot of years and always found him to be a nice lad and had no problems with discipline.
“Obviously he’s gone out and made a mistake and now he’s paying the price for that.
“It’s a non-footballing matter and at the end of the day we would accept him back as a player in the future.”
