Woman admits benefit fraud whilst in Haverhill
Dianne Jobson of George Lambton Avenue, Newmarket pleaded guilty to benefit fraud offences onThursday, March 7 at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court.
Jobson, 39, was a tenant at Hundon Place in Haverhill when the offences were committed.
She claimed an overpayment of £1,010.78 housing and council tax benefit between January 16, 2011 and September 16, 2011.
Jobson failed to inform the Benefits Service of St Edmundsbury Borough Council that her partner, who was in fulltime employment, was living with her contrary to Section 112 of the Social Security Administration Act 1992.
And between the same dates Jobson failed to inform the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) that her partner was living with her whilst she claimed Employment Support Allowance, an overpayment of £2,107.66.
Jobson was given a 12 month condition discharge and ordered to pay costs of £150.
She is paying £4.20 a fortnight to the DWP to repay the £2107.66 and £10.65 a week for the housing and council tax benefit overpayment of £1,010.78.
