Police are appealing for witnesses and would like to speak to a cyclist after an incident in Haverhill involving a bike and a car.
At around 11.30pm on Friday, January 17 the car’s driver, a man in his twenties, was pulling out of Cambridge Close onto Western Avenue, when he saw a cyclist approaching from the junction with Ash Grove.
The driver stopped to avoid a collision but was approached by the cyclist and punched.
A further altercation took place between the two men at the junction of Western Avenue and Withersfield Road, where the victim’s watch came off and was thrown across the street.
The cyclist returned to his bike and made off down Cambridge Close before the victim flagged down a passing vehicle and contacted the police.
The cyclist was as white, aged between 35 and 40, around 5ft 11in tall, of average build, with short greying hair. He was wearing a black jumper, dark coloured trousers/jeans and was riding a black-framed mountain bike.
Anyone who knows the cyclist or who has any information about the incident should contact PC Matt Egan at Haverhill Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
