A man’s dog attacked Jack Russell and injured its owner in a Haverhill park.

The attack took place at around 11.30am last Thursday (February 13) at East Town Park in Coupals Road.

A husband and wife were walking their Jack Russell through the park when they encountered a man walking a large brown dog with short hair.

Their Jack Russell went over to sniff the brown dog, which then grabbed the Jack Russell in its mouth and shook it.

The owner then went to free his pet from the mouth of the other dog, and was bitten on both his hands in the process.

The Jack Russell had to be treated at the vets and its owner needed medical attention, requiring stitches to their hands.

The owner of the large brown dog is described as white man of stocky build.

Police would like to speak to this man to discuss the attack.

Anyone who believes they know who this man is or has any information about the attack can call Pc Christian Thomas at Haverhill Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
