Former mayor of St Edmundsbury Patrick Chung has presented more money raised during his mayoral year to charities and community groups.

Cllr Chung raised £28,000 during his mayoral year and had already presented £20,000 to his four main charities - with £5,000 each to Samaritans, East Anglia’s Children’s Hopsices (EACH), the Women’s Refuge and the Rainbow Ward at West Suffolk Hospital.

Last week, he presented the remaining £8,000 to nearly 40 charities and community groups.

They reflect many aspects of community life and include Bury St Edmunds Air Cadets, the Citizen’s Advice Bureau, Age UK (Blokes at the Oakes), Art Heads, Bury St Edmunds Postcard Club, Bury St Edmunds Tchoukball, Suffolk Breast Cancer Now, WASH Sailability and St John Ambulance.
