Have your say

The Eastern Savings & Loans Credit Union has begun running a market stall in Haverhill on the first Saturday or every month to spread the word about its services.

The union appeals to the lower paid, or those on benefits who want to try and save a little, or need loans of more modest amounts. Checks are made on an applicant’s credit history, but the union takes a more lenient view of any past misdemeanours.

If you want to know more, visit the next stall on August 6, or call in to the Havebury Housing offices between 11am and 1pm on a Monday when staff are available to discuss and explain our service.

Volunteers are urgently required to assist with the union’s expansion by manning the stall at various events during July and August, and also helping at the access point.

The union is presently open on only one day, but wants to open on further days to give local people easier access to our services.

If you are interested, please call Peter on 07875 212071.

No money is handled in Haverhill and no previous knowledge is required as full training will be given to suitable applicants.
