The Rotary Club of Haverhill and District would like to hear from any organisation with a person aged 18-26 that it feels would benefit from a week long intensive residential development course at Grafham Water.

Each year the Rotary Clubs in East Anglia organise a programme to give young people the opportunity to develope leadership skills and self confidence through a combination of lectures, team building exercises, business projects and physical activity.

The Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is open to anyone between the ages of 18-26 and is sponsored by a local Rotary Club.

This year’s course runs from September 3-10. Completion of the course is recognised as part of a person’s Continuous Professional Development.

Previous employers have been overwhelmingly impressed with the course and have seen marked improvements in communication skills, confidence and reliability from those who have attended the course.

The cost of the course is £600 but part of this could be provided by Haverhill Rotary Club. Places are limited to 50 from the whole of East Anglia, allocated on a strictly first come first served basis.

Last year’s course was fully subscribed so we would like to be able to enter one or more candidates by the end of May.
