With two weeks to go before they do the Isle of Wight challenge, the Rainbow Walkers have beaten their cash target for Cancer Research.

On Sunday, the group of friends from Haverhill held their last fund raising event before the April 30 challenge – a zumbathon and cake sale which raised nearly £656, taking them to almost £2,000 when their target was £1,200.

Two of the friends, Sandra Hilton and Sonya Butler, will be doing 106km round the island so they did a 50km training walk the day before the zumbathon.

Their team mates Terry Holland, Liz Leeds and Paula Fowler are doing a 25km Quarter Island.

Sunday’s zumbathon was put on with help from instructors Beverley Paris and Stacey Leigh-Hunt who gave their expertise free.
