The Suffolk UK Youth Parliament (UKYP) election results have been announced today.

More than 200 young people voted for their chosen Suffolk representatives, and the results are now in.

Dominic Richards, a Samuel Ward Academy student from Haverhill, has been elected as the Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) for West Suffolk while

Oliver Nunn has been chosen as the Deputy Member of Youth Parliament (DMYP) for West Suffolk.

Temi Famakinwa has been selected as the MYP for Bury St Edmunds, Megan Day as MYP for Central Suffolk and Nathan Parris as MYP for Ipswich.

The new members join two existing MYPs, Jed Levett for Waveney and Alex Bowers for Ipswich.

UKYP gives young people a voice that is heard by decision makers in local and national government.

There will be another election in the next academic year to elect Members and Deputy Members of Youth Parliament for the remaining areas of Suffolk.

Suffolk UKYP will be taking nominations from candidates interested in running for election in mid-September.
