Marking her final week as High Sheriff of Suffolk, Judith Shallow has spoken of her ‘pleasure and privilege’ to serve the county.

Mrs Shallow, of Felsham, handed over the title to organic farmer William Kendall, of Kelsale on the Suffolk coast, last week.

The High Sheriff supports those involved in the administration of justice and champions the work of charities, voluntary services and unsung community heroes.

“The really great pleasure has been to meet the absolutely wonderful, dedicated and special people who run the charities and voluntary groups that really are the glue that sticks Suffolk society together,” said Mrs Shallow.

As well as attending court hearings Mrs Shallow also raised ‘a considerable amount’ for the High Sheriff’s Fund, the new Arts and Culture Fund and other charities.
