Police in Haverhill are today appealing for witnesses after a man in the town assaulted a teenage girl.

The incident happened at around 11.45am yesterday, Tuesday, January 29, in Wortham Place, Haverhill.

The 13-year-old girl was walking along an alleyway near to Wortham Place when a man approached her. The man pushed her against some bushes and then grabbed her around the neck, the girl kicked out at him and he then ran off in the direction of Chalkstone Way.

The man is described as white, 25-30 years old; he wore a black hooded top with the hood up, dark blue jeans with a rip in the knee and gloves.
