A14 remains closed after fatal collision

A section of the A14 will be closed for several hours following a fatal collision.

One person died and another suffered serious injuries following the collision involving a car and three lorries close to the turn off with the A1303 at 7.10am today (Thursday, January 17).

Both victims were in the car.

The road is set to remain closed for several hours while investigations are carried out.

One lane of the eastbound carriageway is also closed while the central reservation is repaired.

Sergeant Gordon Murray said: “I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision or any of the vehicles prior to it.

“We’re particularly keen on hearing from anyone who saw any vehicle stopped or broken down on the slip road to the junction with the A1303.”

Anyone with any information should call the roads policing unit on 101.
