Police are appealing for information and reminding residents to ensure they lock all their doors and windows at night after a house was entered in Lidgate.
The incident occurred at around 3.30am yesterday (Tuesday, September 24) at a property in The Street.
The offenders accessed the house via an insecure rear kitchen door and on entering knocked over a cup causing it to smash.
This then woke the occupants and scared off the suspects who left empty-handed. A car was seen to drive away and the next morning the back gate was found unlatched.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact DC Mark Robinson at Bury St Edmunds CID on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
