Audley End station to open new footbridge

Representatives from the Audley End Estate and Uttlesford District Council (UDC) will officially open a new footbridge at the train station tomorrow (Monday, March 18).

Lord Braybrooke kindly granted permission for the footbridge, which connects UDC’s Swan Meadow Car Park in New Pond Lane with Audley End Park.

It was constructed to meet demand for parking facilities from local residents and visitors who use the Park for walking and exercising their dogs.

Motorists requested an alternative access to the Park after Audley End Road was made the subject of a temporary Rural Clearway Order last year.

The footbridge and permissive path enables motorists to park at Swan Meadow and cross The Slade into the Park where they can connect with the right-of-way network.
